I think I said this already one hundred times, but one more time won’t hurt anyone: I LOVE CHOCOLATE! I truly do! So even though I was trying to be opened to different tastes this summer, you probably remember my Yogurt Lemon Cake and my other Lemon Tart, I was missing chocolate! And this is why this Chocolate Mousse Gelato came to life.
I like to call it a chocolate mousse gelato, because if you’ve ever tried to make gelato or ice-cream before you know how tricky it can get. Unfortunately making homemade gelato isn’t easy unless you have an ice-cream maker. But if you don’t have one, like me, no worries you can use an hand mixer. It just won’t be the classic gelato. You will make a chocolate gelato that resembles a chocolate mousse, so a chocolate mousse gelato :-).

Ingredients
500ml Heavy Cream
300gr Condensed Milk (it’s very sweet that’s why I didn’t add sugar to the recipe)
30gr Unsweetened Cacao Powder
100gr Dark Chocolate (grated)
Vanille Extract
Directions
- Using a hand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream with the vanilla extract until peaks form.
- Add condensed milk to the whipped cream and whisk it well.
- Then, add cacao powder and dark chocolate to the whipped cream and keep whisking until all the chocolate and the cacao is mixed well within the whipped cream.
- Pour the chocolate mousse mix into a bowl or to an airtight container and freeze until hardened (it will take a few hours)
